After a long drought, I bring you some news!
Worry not, the lack of updating on here does not reflect my actual work for Clockwork Queen. Now that the holidays have settled down I have gone on a writing spree and more story has been developed. I am a happy girl :) I've got a few art updates at Deviantart of characters from a steampunk story I'm working on with a dear friend. It takes place in the same world as Clockwork Queen and there might be a cross over some time in the future? We'll see ;) Gotta get these stories done first!
Here are my pictures for the curious at heart:

The Plan for this break
I'M GOING HOME TOMORROW! I've been feeling a mix of excitement and tieredness. All the work I've been doing is finally getting to me. My back has been killing me and I get randomly tired at different times, tired enough for naps. I feel like such an old lady. But I'm looking forward to being able to draw for myself now. I plan on doing more work for clockwork queen, and the steampunk story that Ian and I are calaborating on.
I'm also looking forward to making presents and fancy christmas cards and cookies for my loved ones. I plan on keeping the creativeness flowing rather than just vegitating infront of the computer. I also want to sew myself a nice black lolita skirt during the break to bring back to SCAD. Hopefully I can get some fabric at Joeanna's since Wallmart has had nothing I like -_-
I'm also considering getting a DA subscription. Maybe during the summer when I have job ^^ Then I can update it during school when I have stuff to post. Speaking of school... I have just completed my frist year at SCAD! I'm so happy, and full of feelings of accomplishment I am a sophmore now!
well, here's a toast to being tired, over worked, under SCAD's thumb, and going home. HUZZAH

New Doll + school work
I decided to change the doll for this month. I made one of my new steampunk character "Layla Von Gedge". She's a genuis. <3
I'm still working on her so I'll post sketches when she's more developed and fleshed out.
Today I will be working on finishing the pencils for my storyboards (Children of Man), and doing some more pages for the Clockwork Queen mini comic.
off to work...

Sprucing up the Blog
I put a little list on the side of the blog here listing some websites that I like. They are fun so I suggest visiting them if you have spare time.
EGL- is the Elegant Gothic Lolita community on Live Journal. These ladies are hard core and I love this site. It pretty much taught me everything I know about Lolita fashion.
Brass Goggles- The Lighter Side of Steampunk- is a great blog collecting lots of websites, blogs, and stores that offer a wealth of Steampunk information, fiction, fashion, items, and wonders. I've read the WHOLE THING in one night.
The Art of Alex CF- A fantastic steam punk artist who also creates realistic looking 'kits' regarding parts of history that never were. Such as vampire and werewolf study kits, and jared 'specimens' of animals like two headed albino bats, and spawns of Cthulhu himself. His work is so inspirational. I absolutely love it!
Viona Art- Wonderful Photography featuring the most devestatingly beautiful clothing I've ever seen. She's also photographed Ville Valo of HIM and I always enjoy her photographs from Gothic festivals. Inspiring and breathtaking work.
Gothic Charm School- a lovely site devoted to manners that are aimed at goths. People write in and the "Lady of the Manners" answers them in a very serious and professional manner. It seems to have been around since 1999 and has a wealth of knowedge regarding how to handle reactions from relatives at christmas time (I wish found that in high school) to matters of love and concerts/events/social life.
So check out these sites and have fun! I have lots of CWQ sketches to post (I completed the sketchbook and I have a new one now) and I will try to post those later, providing they will upload to photobucket. PB has been persnickity with me lately :/

CWQ update
I drew a quick/rough Clockwork Queen comic of Mick (the airship pilot) and Samantha (his navigator). I'll post a better version when I finally get time to draw it out.

I have some more sketchbook doodles and page layouts done too. And two projects to work on this week so I'll be swamped. Hopefully I can squeeze in some CWQ in the meantime.

Clockwork Queen update
Here are some sketchs from my tiny sketchbook (4in X 6in) regarding the clockwork queen story:
Here is Larson, our excentric inventor/researcher.
Here's a little sketch of Millie the Mechanic making her debute at a fancy party. The guy with the monicle is the male twin in the story. He doesn't have a name yet. Ideas for names are welcomed ^^;
Here is the captain and navigator of an airship (still need to design that and name them). They helps the kids out later on their quest to stop the mad scientist.
More to come later. I'm off to St. Paul's Greek Othodox Church for an art history feild trip. I hope the weather stays nice.

Writings and Workshops
I got A LOT of writing done last night for Clockwork Queen. I have the first half or third of the book planned out. I still have to name characters and flesh them out some more. I also came up with this neat female character who is a navigator for an airship (what's a steampunk story without an airship? nothing I tell you!) I also need to flesh out the captain of her ship. I think they will help our 'heros' with their mission. *so excited*
I'm going to a workshop today for "Dynamic Fight Scenes" and they will teach us how to draw them. I'm excited because it's a subject I find chalenging and I believe that being able to draw them will help me improve. I look forward to taking figure drawing class and anatomy. I like how my figures turn out but sometimes I look at them later and it's like "why is that arm so long? Why are those legs so short?" kinda deal. I just look forward to improving ^_^ I dont' want to drastically change anything, I'm really happy with my style, I just want improve it.
I have to start doing homework today so more Clockwork Queen will have to wait for spare time -_-

Personal Projects
I've done some more work for Clockwork Queen today. I'm working with the characters and trying to develope them and their relationships with eachother. I have to make sure to keep stedily working on my homework.
I have to do the pencils (blue non photo pencil) for my animation storyboards (12- 15 of them). I'm doing a little fox lady (in the vien of animal crossing so stubby little legs and big head). It's really cute and my teacher was enthusiastic about it so I'm excited too. We have to have a walk cycle and a "squash and stretch" which is where they jump over something and their body gets all distorted.
For sequential class I have to do 6 comic strips. I'm doing them as a series called "I can do that" where it basically follows a girl as she persues her dream of being a comic book artist. I'm basing them on things that happened to me and things I hope will happen. I'm thinking of splitting it up into sections like the first strip being a short intro into how she started drawing/knew she wanted to be a comic artist, and then a few high school strips, then some convention ones, then waiting to see an editor or graduating from SCAD. fun fun
Here is a sketch of the Clockwork Queen herself:
It's small because I don't want people to steal my ideas but I still want to show it off.
And for fun here are some pictures of my workspace from last night and a few weeks ago:
This one was from the very begining of this month, before I got sick. I haven't had tea since then.
I'm going to post my Halo 3 storyboards here: www.spork-bunny.deviantart.com They are too big to post here ^^;
See you all later!

A new saga is born
I was in sequential class today working on sketches for my comic strip project when a series of small ideas hit me. I now have a new story I'm working on in my spare time (aside from the lolita bookmarks). It's called "Clockwork Queen" and its' a steampunk story X3 I'm so excited. More to come soon.
Also I'm pleased that the animated doll is working on the side of the page. I threw this one together for halloween <3 It's the closest I could get to make it look like me. If you click on it it takes you to the website to make your own. It's quite fun.

Yesterday
(originally posted Oct. 11th, 2007 on my DA)
Well today has been nothing short of tramatic.
In art history this morning I was just sitting down, taking notes from the lechture, and my back started to hurt. I tried to strech my arms and shoulders but it's wasn't helping and my back was suddenly overcome by horrendous pain. My eyes started to water and I kept trying to straighten my back, I had never felt pain in my back like this before. After a few minutes of struggling in my seat and I had to leave (I sit in the front row so it was impossible to leave without getting noticed which is why I tried to stay as long as possible. I think my TA and Teacher started to notice my discomfort) and I went to the bathroom to try to do stretches. The stretches didnt' work so I finally sat on the floor with my back straight against the door and the pain slowly crept away. I went back to class and was fine until we left. Lilly deducted that it was my bookbag filled with heavy books that was twisting my back. I now have to make sure to carry as little as possible (which won't be easy on monday when I have all my studio classes in the morning X_X ) We went to her room after class so she could show me her beautiful dolls and we hung out for a while and I had to sit down on the floor with my back against her wardrobe. Ravenged with hunger we then went to scafe' and my back started hurting on and off, until I couldnt' get up. Lilly and I parted and Bonnie and Brandon came to sit with me. Bonnie sympathised with my back problems and said she would lend me her medical corset so I can keep my posture and back straight. I know I will definately need this for class if this doesnt' get better this weekend. I'll call her about it soon.
Trama #2: I saw a car wreck as it happened. I was on a short bus on Liberty St. going past the convention center when I heard a noise and saw lots of movement to my left. (I had my headphones on but sliped them off) and I saw a silver Jeep turned completely upside down and crushed with shattered glass and the contents of the Jeep spilled over on the street. I remember seeing a coffee cup and thinking "Oh my god, I'm going to see if a dead body if I keep looking". Luckily the driver had their seat belt on and didn't fly out of the car. I still hope they're okay. I then turned to the bus driver and said "should we call 911?" but she pointed out that there happened to be a police officer there already, by complete chance. I then started to panic and my eyes started to water but no one was there to comfort me so I did my best to stop crying. No one noticed anyway. I then went to my teacher conference shook up and small aches in my back poping up (but my back was pretty good since I took some ibuprofen) My teacher asked me how I was and I told him 'shook up a bit' and told him about the accident. Otherwise my meeting went well and I am 'an excellent student'. because I rock.
I'm still shook up and I called Lilly and got her answering machine and told her about the accident and how shook up I was. She called me back just as I got to my dorm and told me to stay home and relax. (We were going to go to Sakura's tonight but we've decided to cancle and go to a tea house she found later this week. we get to dress up too I'm excited).
And that's my day...
(written today Oct. 12th, 2007)
Later that evening: Bonnie came over being the ray of sunshine that she is and brought me her medical corset. It's really big and bulky and is a bit big for me to wear but I can wear it in the dorm. I also have to make sure I sit up straight when not wearing it, and take ibuprofen so it doesn't hurt. We had a long chat at scafe' (like one of those movie scenes where two people are in one place but everyone around them moves really fast). It was awsome and made me feel better. I was also supposed to have dinner with Lilly at Sakura last night but we both cancled on account of me feeling bad. But we are going to a tea house this week so that will make up for it :) Gonna get lolified <3

Too many posts in one day
Too many posts today, I'm sorry but I wanted to write about my experience at the first Shoujo Phonebook club meeting tonight.
It was scary (at least to me)
Lilly drove us in her blue car (affectionatly known as "Chii"). Lilly herself was clad in BtSSB and Meta (if I'd known she was going in Lolita I would have too. I felt so plain in my converse and black shirt) :( When we got to the student center it was packed with students and was really noisey. Lilly found a seat (as her shoe had just broken and was hard to stand in) but I just stood next to a white collumb. Surrounded by so many loud and lively people my crowd anxiety started to kick in and I just wanted to go home. They then asked everyone to one by one, stand up and give their name, school year, major/minor, and name of their favorite comic book. It was soon made clear that the room was dominated by about 85% crazed Otaku girls, 5% mall goths, 5% RPG geeks, and misc. people. Whenever a manga like FMA or Naruto was named as a favorite there would be loud screams and shouts from other fans, which always caught me off guard and made me more nervous. When the time came to introduce myself I named Louie the Rune Solider as a comic I liked, and I got absolutely no responce.
After the 30-40 min of Otaku introductions and heads hitting tables in distain (mainly by non Otakus), the club officers proceeded to tell us about the club while people drew the newest instaulments of their webcomics, and talked to eachother. I stood there listening and waiting to sign the attendance sheet (or the club doesnt' get their money). After the meeting they were selling older editions of the SPbooks and making lots of 'one more anouncement's. Then a guy from Gamers Guild said something that made my night. He said the Gamers Guild was going to make their own RPG source book and needed writers/character artists. I did this in high school, here's a chance to draw interesting characters, while doing a better job of it, and maybe even get published! This friday I'll be there. Hopefully I can get a ride now... I'll let everyone know how that meeting goes too ^^ I'm really excited about it. However putting a book like that together is really a lot of work so I hope they are serious about it.
sorry if this sounded boring, I just hope it didnt' sound too emo 0_o I just didnt' feel very comfortable there. How do I ever make it alive out of cons?

Sequential Homework
I finally got photobucket to load something :/ Here is the lettering homework I had. The pencil art belongs to Andrew G. and the characters are from 'The Tick'. I wonder who's page I get to ink... I'll know tomorrow. Hopefully then I can upload more stuff to photoshop. (Please don't give any crit on the art, its' not mine. so there)
It was hard to letter this at first but it's a lot easier to do now ^_^ The Ames lettering guied is the rubix cube of sequential art. true story.
Bookmark update
Here are the sketches for the Hime (Princess) Lolita and Guro Lolita (still incomplete sketch).
I had some more things to show you but photobucket is being difficult -_-
My friend Lilly let me borrow two PostSecret books. I devoured them like candy. My heart feels heavy after reading them. I hope I can sleep better tonight. I haven't been sleeping very well and I don't know why, nor do I like it. I dont' want to take pills for it because it only started two or three days ago. Maybe I should drink more tea, it calms me down. If anyone has any tips for better sleep I really appreciate it ^^

Lolita Bookmarks Instaulment #1
Here is a preview of some of the lolita book marks I've done so far. I plan on doing Hime-Loli (Princess Lolita) one today. I'll keep posting when new ones are sketched/inked. I probably won't color them until I go home for winter break and order new inks for my copics/new prisma color markers.
These ones are Ero lolita, Kuro Lolita, Sweet (Pink) Lolita, and Steampunk Lolita (the style of which I am currently smitten with <3)
And I finally got to watch last friday's Avatar episode. (Thank you YouTube.com) I hope they do a soundtrack soon, this show has pretty good music so far.
And Meggers got one of these blogger blogs too :D So we be blogger buddies (LOLZ)
This one is for Meggers LOL

Weekend Update
Here's some projects I've been working on this weekend:
For Intro to Sequential I had to do a comic page of pencil drawings to go along with a page of script that I was given. The script was about ninjas and was so terrible that I couldn't take it seriously. So the ninjas are now little fluffy animals.
For Drawing for Storyboarding we had to finish this three point perspective establishing shot for a series of storyboards will be doing later.
I am also entering a villain contest on Deviant Art http://andrewdickman.deviantart.com/
wish me luck!
I've wanted to get an ID case for about a year now so I can carry around my bussiness cards and for when I collect them from other people/stores. I really want this one:
http://www.victoriantradingco.com/store/catalogimages/6f/i2876.html
I wanted to get one that had my personality all over it and I think it's very classy.
I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend! <3
