Weekend Sketches

After doing some sketches this weekend I realized that I sketch quite a bit, especially after a whole week. So I decided that I should try to post some of my best sketches from the week here, since I post my more finished pieces at Deviantart and Fur Affinity.

Here are a few from this weekend

Photobucket
Here is a little color doodle of Victoria from my comic "Clockwork Queen". I haven't drawn anything from this series in a long time and I barely give Victoria any drawing time outside of the comic so it was quite refreshing to draw this. I was going to have Millie running after her but the page cut her off.

Photobucket
Some brush pen practice and a chibi of Kale with her hair grown out.

Photobucket
Kale looks around 8 or 9 years old with that shoulder length hair. Also her mother makes a debut! I decided her mother and father met on their own adventuring quest. (Her mother is a moon elf and her father is human).
Kale is just insanely fun to draw ;_; She's so pretty.

I love seeing sketches and WIP work of other artists so I'll try my best to keep up these sketch posts!

Pictures and Plans

Here's a few new 'finished' pieces from Deviantart that I've done recently.
I love markers <3

Super Friends by ~Spork-Bunny on deviantART

Here's a new character I'm developing as a villain for my half elf Kale. She still doesn't' have a name yet.

So after this weekend I've got four more weeks at school. It's a little worrying because I wanted to redo a few design projects and touch up some drawing projects so I'm gonna have to manage my time wisely. I've also written up a schedule for when I'm taking what objects home from my dorm. It pays to organize, even though dad says "do it all at once, that's what I got the truck for!" :P

I also got a new sketchbook! (always happy news) It's a bigger hardcover, thicker than I usually get, sketchbook so I'm hoping it lasts a little longer than the micron pen books I've been getting. (They're nice but pretty thin so I go through them quickly).
I also want to decorate it but I'm not sure what to put on it yet. The cover is textured so it might not take stickers so well...

To do this weekend:
+ work on book jacket project
+ prime canvas and do color tests for painting
+ finish Alex's T-shirt design sketches and prepair for scanning
+ tweak previous design poster project (get it printed?)

I've also been thinking about my plans for the summer.
(without job)
+ work on Clayton Chronicles comic
+ do Cubeecraft toys of whole Clayton Chronicles cast
+ finish bookmarks from last summer and do new ones
+ work on layouts for Clockwork Queen
+ research getting web-space/web-page
+ Do downloadable wallpapers for comics
+ save up money for an 11"x17" scanner (almost there!)
+ Start working on pitch packet for Clayton Chronicles
+ Rework Clockwork Queen pitch packet
(with job)
+ work on Clayton Chronicles
+ research getting web-space
+ save up for scanner and other tools
+ CWQ layouts?
+ Start working on pitch packet for Clayton Chronicles

That's the plan

Cubes and Fire alarm Wake up calls

I really don't like it when my weekend wake up calls end up being the emergency fire alarm going off -_-

Last night I whipped up these Scion Cubeecraft toys (yes I'm STILL making them :P)

For now these prototypes are sitting on top of my computer. I'm gonna wait till I do a bunch more and get them all professionally printed. I'm doing more Clayton Chronicles characters next, and maybe a normally dressed Saturday since I did his Voodoo! Variant... and then a variant for Ramla... damn these are addictive to do...

Lolita Wars- OMN story arc cover

It is with an aching hand that I post my newest illustration. I was talking with my good friend Ian Davison (of the Talk without Rhythm Podcast) and we've been tinkering with the idea of story arc for "Or Maybe Not" having to do with the whole Lolita culture and basically spoofing it. All good fun. So while he's working on writing up some ideas I sketched out an idea for the 'cover' image for the story and two or three hours later (not sure, I lost count, I just know my hand is really hurting from all the drawing I've done today) I came up with this:

Photobucket

Sorry for the obnoxious watermark but even with small pictures I want to protect them. However a better version will be available in the black and white art book I'm currently working on :D Also might consider making it a print or post card. I'm that proud of it <3 However I'm not sure on the font... does anyone have any good ideas for Lolita-ish or pretty (yet readable) fonts?

Also my awesome friend Sarah gave me a lovely lolita drawing today for my birthday :D I absolutely adore it and I'm getting it framed as soon as possible!

You can see more of her artwork at her Deviantart page!

Con Badges

So tonight I also finally did Ryan's con badge that he requested a while ago. We're both really happy with it.

I also took a photo of the other four sample con badges I did in the plastic card protecter/holders they come with.

Cube Vision

I seem to be updating the VCU blog more often this one now D: But that just means I don't have as much time for personal arts, however I do have a photo of an assignment for my software class that I just finished. I had to make an original Cubeecraft paper toy so I made one of Clayton from Clayton Chronicles. I'm pretty proud of it (the cutting job could have been a bit better but overall it's a good first try) so this means that I want to make the whole cast now... lets hope I can at least make a few :P

Photobucket

I think I'll also make a fully 3-dimensional version of his hat. This flat one does not please me :/ As I make them I'll post the templates so people can download them and make them themselves.

I'm also still working on my black and white art book (finished 2/24 illustrations so far) and I'm doing layouts for the first chapter of Clayton Chronicles. Hopefully I'll get a class on how to make a website so I can make one for the comic. I'm also hoping to finish the first chapter of CC this summer (fully inked and everything). I think it'll be great practice, plus it needs to get started!

I'm also open for commissions!
