Hoola Hooptress

Hello everyone!

Here are my best sketches from last month's Dr. Sketchy's featuring The Karma Kontraption.

Chiara Scuro

I went to Dr. Sketchy's yesterday with some friends. We the drew the lovely Chiara Scuro as princess Nuala from Hellboy 2. I really hope they keep getting cosplayers, they are really fun to draw. Although next month we get a contortionist! :D Here's my sketches from the day.

The prompt for this one was to draw the model as the love-child of Princess Nuala and Hellboy, even though it wouldn't happen :P All I could think was POOR ABE :(

These were really fun to do! Enjoy!
Now its' back to work for me!

Dr. Sketchy's feat. Parker Galore

We had our first male model for Dr. Sketchy's, along with our first Saturday session. Looks like it will be the second Saturday of the month from now on.

2 minute warm up sketches. I decided to try to focus on shapes of color instead of line work so much.

5 minute poses with the 'Ringmaster' costume.

I believe this was a 15 minute pose. The gladiator costume was pretty awesome. The red 'armor' was covered in sequens and black fur, while the loincloth was a pair a short with a mass of feathers around it.

I believe this was also a 15 minute pose. I love the feather fans Deanna put behind him, but my ink wasn't drying fast enough to prevent marker smudging :/

Parker Galore's third costume was a Satyr. I was pleasantly surprised and excited to draw it. The costume made me think of something a druid might make for a ceremony or festival (not that I know anything about druids, its' just what it made me think of). We had to draw him with a mythical creature. I chose a mentally challenged unicorn (you'll see why in the next drawing.)

Parker had a unicorn toy with him as a prop. When he sat down he looked like he was watching tv so I drew the scene as so. I also added in some popcorn and a remote control. I decided since the prize for this contest was tickets to a "Burlesque, B-Movies, and Booze" showing of 'The Warriors' then I should draw him watching it. I won the tickets.

My friend Erin was there too. You can see her sketches at her blog.

I've also done some more comic work this weekend. I'll be doing more to finish the last few pages of Kale, and the cover. Then formatting and lettering. Still juggling classwork but determined to make it work!

Sketch Dump Go!

Dr. Sketchy's Stuff

Model: Pretty Penny. She was lots of fun to draw. She did such saucy poses!

Other Stuff

This is a page of rough sketches of a new character I am developing named "Mara." She's a monster hunter. She hunts and kills exotic/dangerous monsters that cause problems for people but no one else wants to face. She's like a hardcore exterminator. For a price of course... Still fleshing out her look as well as her personality.

A little sketch of Alencia and Rorketh sharing a drink. Done as a victory sketch after finishing the Snow comic.

Older SCION sketch of Ramla and Saturday. I actually drew this in a McDonald's. Memphis is angry you didn't bring him any ice cream. I need serious practice drawing cats ;_;

I have more inked sketches but they are for the Kale book. I want to be able to put things in the book that haven't been seen online! It's so hard guys ;_; I'm so used to sharing everything. I'm trying to be good.

Dr. Sketchy's Fairy

At last night's Dr. Sketchy drawing session the lovely Jendetta posed for us as a summer fairy.
